Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC), Government of Karnataka, aims at channelizing the dynamism of Youth in nation building activities. The Department has developed several programs to reach, engage and empower the Youth of Karnataka to facilitate Skilling activities across the State.
Karnataka Skill Development Corporation has always been at the forefront of encouraging talent and has produced a large pool of talent who have made Karnataka and India proud in Global Skill Competitions. Awards and financial assistance to identified skill talents have marked the extra mile so far towards achieving remarkable goals.
World Skills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India. NSDC, through its World Skills India initiative, has been leading the country's participation in World Skills International competitions since 2011.
Since 1950, many countries and regions across the globe have hosted World Skills Competition and with time comes experience. Karnataka Skill Development Corporation(KSDC), has launched the "India Skills Karnataka - 2023" competition in the month of July 2022. The aim is to intensively train the winners of India Skills Karnataka 2023, to win in the Regional and National India Skills Competition and represent India in the World Skills Competition — 2024 held in Lyon, France in 2024.
The World Skills Competition is a flagship event which is organized once in two years. It is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event that truly reflects a global industry with more than 1000 youth under 22 years competing in more than 50 skills. Founded in 1950, World Skills Competition is the global hub for skills excellence and development. World Skills brings youth, industries, and educators together to give youth the chance to compete, experience, and learn how to become the best in their skill of choice. World Skills vision is to improve the world through the power of skills. It has 75 Member countries and regions, all working with youth, educators, governments, and industries to help prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future.
