Essay Writing Competition on “Social Justice and Devaraj Urs”

Devaraj Urs was a champion of Justice. His reforms targeted the Depressed Classes of Karnataka, especially oppressed and the backward castes. His priority was to empower the marginalised communities and he did it through land reforms by distributing the lands among the landless peasants. His commitment and determination ensured that Karnataka emerged as a frontrunner in the implementation of land reforms in the country.

He attempted to alleviate poverty through the social inclusion of all communities in mainstream society. His works aimed toward building the socio-economic and cultural integration of India. In honour of his contributions to the state, the Department of Backward Classes Welfare invites its citizens to an essay writing competition under the title ‘Social Justice and Devaraj Urs'.

The selected Top entries will be awarded Cash Prizes as follows:
a. First Prize - INR 10,000/-
b. Second Prize - INR 7500/-
c. Third Prize – INR 5000/-
D. Special Jury Award Prize - INR 3000/-

Terms and conditions
Submission of Entries:
•All the entries must be submitted online through our official website
•No other medium of submission will be accepted
• Essays to be written Kannada only.
• All entries should be in the A4 sheet and submitted in scanned PDF format only.
• Handwritten entries should be legible to read and converted as PDF and submitted.
• The essay should not exceed the word limit of 3000 words.
•For those the age of 16 years and above.
•The participants must mention the following details along with their submission:
1. Name

3. Age
4. Contact number
5. Email ID
•It may be kindly noted that entries with incomplete profiles/details required will not be considered.
• Decision of the Committee will be final
